Sahara Hotel and Casino (demolished original resort)

The Sahara on the Las Vegas Strip closed in 2011 after decades as a Strip resort. The original main tower and buildings were demolished soon after closure, clearing the site for redevelopment. The property later reopened under new ownership as SLS Las Vegas and the Sahara name was subsequently revived at the same address.
