Koenig Building

The Koenig Building was a historic Italianate style commercial structure in downtown Davenport, Iowa, constructed in 1872 by Augustus Koenig for his daughters. It served as a millinery and fancy goods shop, with living quarters above, and later housed a tavern. The building was recognized for its architectural significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, but has since been demolished, leaving a surface parking lot in its place. Its design featured a bracketed cornice, curved pediment, and distinctive round-arch windows, reflecting the Victorian commercial architecture of the era.
