Texas Theatre (historic neighborhood cinema)

The Texas Theatre opened in 1931 as a neighborhood movie palace and retains its historic auditorium and exterior marquee from the early 20th century. Architecturally it exemplifies period theater design with a prominent street-facing facade and interior decorative detailing from the 1930s. The theater is also the documented site where Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested on November 22, 1963.
