Carl L. Caviness Post 102, American Legion

Built in 1925 and designed by architect William L. Perkins, the Carl L. Caviness Post 102 is a notable example of Late 19th and 20th Century Revivals architecture. Recognized for its historical significance, it honors Carl L. Caviness, the first Lucas County resident killed in World War I. The post was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006 and includes two contributing buildings, showcasing the American Legion's role in the community's social life. In 2014, it became part of the Lucas County Courthouse Square Historic District, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers.
