San Barnaba, Venice

The Chiesa di San Barnaba is a neoclassical church located in the Dorsoduro district of Venice, Italy, dedicated to the Apostle Saint Barnabas. Originally built in the ninth century, it was destroyed by fire and rebuilt in 1350, with its current form completed in 1776 by architect Lorenzo Boschetti. The church features an 11th-century campanile with a distinctive pine-cone shaped spire. Once home to the Casin dei Nobili, an 18th-century gambling house, the church is now deconsecrated and serves as a venue for exhibitions. Notably, it was featured in the film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, showcasing its striking facade.
