Exercishuset, Stockholm

Exercishuset, or 'The Drill House', is a historic building located on Skeppsholmen in central Stockholm, originally constructed in 1853 to train Navy staff in operating cannon sloops and dinghies. Designed by Fredrik Blom, it underwent expansions in 1881 to accommodate advancements in warfare technology. The building has since transitioned from a military training facility to a cultural hub, housing the National Museum of Fine Arts in 1955 and later becoming part of the Moderna Museet complex in 1998. Today, it serves as the Swedish Centre for Architecture and Design, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in Stockholm's architectural and military history.
