The House of Haji Zulgadar Zulfugarov

The House of Haji Zulgadar Zulfugarov is a 19th-century architectural gem located in Shaki, Azerbaijan. Built in 1897 by a local silk merchant, this three-story mansion features 28 rooms and showcases the unique Azerbaijani architectural style. The building has a rich history, having served various purposes including a girls’ seminary and an orphanage until 2018. Recently recognized as a cultural monument, it is now part of an educational initiative, hosting a Faculty of Design and Architecture in collaboration with international universities. Visitors can appreciate its intricate carvings and historical significance while exploring the vibrant heritage of Shaki.
