Old Town San Diego State Historic Park - archaeological remains

Old Town State Historic Park preserves reconstructed and original 19th-century adobes and contains archaeological excavations revealing foundation lines, household artifacts, and earlier street layouts from the Mexican and early American pueblo. These excavated adobe foundations and material remains document the physical footprint of San Diego’s early civilian settlement and are interpreted across the park’s historic structures. The park combines standing historic buildings with exposed archaeological features to illustrate the city’s early urban fabric.
