Westend (Trevilians, Virginia)

Westend is a historic house located near Trevilians, Virginia, built in 1849 in the Classical Revival style, reflecting Jeffersonian architectural ideals. Originally constructed for Mrs. Susan Dabney Morris Watson, the house features a striking tetrastyle Tuscan portico and is part of a larger plantation that includes surviving dependencies such as slave dwellings. The two-story brick structure is noted for its elegant design and has been preserved by Mrs. Watson's descendants. Westend was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and is part of the Green Springs National Historic Landmark District, an area rich in historical significance and scenic beauty, managed by the National Park Service.
