Camp Carnes

Camp Carnes is a historic summer camp located on Carnes Island in Squam Lake, Holderness, New Hampshire. Established in 1894 by the Webster family, it is one of the first island camps in the area and showcases the transition of Squam Lake from agricultural land to a summer tourist destination. The camp features a rustic charm, complemented by the Websters' upscale amenities, including meals served on fine china. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012, making it an interesting site for both tourists and researchers interested in the region's history and development.
