Northwest African American Museum (Colman School)

The Northwest African American Museum is housed in the historic Colman School building, which was constructed in 1909 as a public school. After extensive renovation, the museum opened in the Colman School building in 2008 and interprets the history and culture of African Americans in the Pacific Northwest. The reuse of the Colman School preserves an early 20th-century school structure for cultural and community use.
