Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort

Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort is the site of the first permanent non-native structure in the Las Vegas Valley, built in 1855 by Mormon missionaries as a fort and trading post. The adobe fort's location is preserved and interpreted as a Nevada State Historic Park. It is frequently cited as the origin point for the modern city of Las Vegas and is open to the public for historic interpretation.
