Bishopscourt, Isle of Man

Bishopscourt, formerly known as Ballacurry, is a historic site on the Isle of Man featuring a 17th-century mansion and the St Nicholas Chapel, previously the pro-cathedral of the Diocese of Sodor and Man. Located near Kirk Michael, it is a notable landmark in the TT races, marked by the 16th Milestone on the Snaefell Mountain Course. The estate served as the official residence for bishops and has a rich history, including use by the 7th Earl of Derby during the English Civil War. The mansion has undergone several renovations and expansions, with its current structure reflecting a castellated baronial style. Visitors can explore its historical significance and beautiful grounds, which include a garden where King George V planted a tree during a visit in 1920.
