San Francisco Columbarium & Funeral Home

The San Francisco Columbarium is a domed, neoclassical repository for cremated remains constructed in 1898 and located in the Richmond District. The building contains thousands of niches and is architecturally distinctive for its circular plan and stained-glass skylight. After periods of neglect in the mid-20th century, it has been restored and operates as a functioning columbarium and funeral home open to visitors by appointment.
