Project Row Houses community painted houses

Project Row Houses was founded in 1993 by artist Rick Lowe and a group of artists to revitalize a block of shotgun houses in Houston’s Third Ward. The site at this address contains rehabilitated houses with painted exteriors and commissioned murals that function as community art walls and outdoor exhibition space. Project Row Houses runs long-term community arts programming, artist residencies, and public events that use those walls as part of neighborhood engagement and cultural education.
