President's Office, Asmara

The Asmara State House, built in 1897 by the first Italian governor Ferdinando Martini, serves as the official residence and office of the President of Eritrea, Isaias Afewerki. This impressive neoclassical structure, designed to showcase Italy's commitment to its first colony, features grand colonnades and lush surrounding gardens. Inside, visitors can admire Italian marble decor and exquisite furniture from Italy and France, alongside a stunning main hall with Renaissance-style stairs.
