Mission San José ('Queen of the Missions')

Mission San José y San Miguel de Aguayo, founded in 1720, is the largest of the Spanish colonial missions in San Antonio and is part of the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. The site includes a restored 18th-century stone church, convento, and the mission's original granary and workshops. It has been interpreted and preserved as both a historic site and a place where Catholic liturgies and special religious events have been held periodically.
