Oaklawn (Huntsville, Alabama)

Oaklawn, also known as the John Robinson House, is a historic Greek Revival residence in Huntsville, Alabama, built in 1844. This notable structure served various roles throughout its history, including as Union Army officers' quarters during the Civil War and as an army camp during the Spanish–American War. The house features a unique five-bay layout with two wings, a grand portico supported by Doric columns, and a central hall design. After falling into disrepair, it was restored by the Dilworth family in 1919. Oaklawn was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in Alabama's architectural and historical heritage.
