Smith Tower - 35th-floor Observatory and Chinese Room

Smith Tower, completed in 1914 at 506 2nd Ave, was for decades the tallest building west of the Mississippi. Its 35th-floor observation deck offers panoramic views of Seattle and contains the historic Chinese Room, an ornately furnished space that functions as a small bar and event room. The Chinese Room and observatory are tucked away at the top of the early-20th-century skyscraper and are often overlooked compared with more modern rooftop venues. Smith Tower's preserved early interiors and its top-floor spaces are documented features of the building's public tours and tenancy.
