Franklin County G. A. R. Soldiers' Memorial Hall (Iowa)

The Franklin County G. A. R. Soldiers' Memorial Hall, located in Hampton, Iowa, is a historic octagonal building designed by Edward Carl Keifer in 1890. As the first G.A.R. Memorial Hall in Iowa, it served as a meeting place for the local Grand Army of the Republic post. The hall features Gothic Revival architecture, highlighted by a cross-shaped plan and an octagonal cupola topped with a statue of a Union soldier. Recognized for its historical significance, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991 and is part of the Hampton Double Square Historic District.
