Pineview (Roxobel, North Carolina)

Pineview, also known as Browne House, is a historic plantation house located near Roxobel, North Carolina, built around 1838. This two-story Federal-style dwelling features a hall-and-parlor plan and includes several outbuildings, such as a smokehouse, office, kitchen, and dairy, showcasing architectural styles from different periods. The property retains much of its original construction, including heart pine weatherboard and original glass windows. A plantation cemetery on-site holds the remains of past residents, both enslaved and free. The house has been in the Browne family for seven generations and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in American history and architecture.
