Wilam Hall

Wilam Hall, located in Carlton, Melbourne, is the smallest residential college of the University of Melbourne, housing around 73 students. Established in 1954 and originally named Medley Hall, it was renamed in 2024 to honor the Wurundjeri Council. The building, originally known as Benvenuta, has a rich history, including transformations from a private mansion to an Italian club and later a student hostel. Its architecture features Italianate Victorian Baroque style with intricate decorations. Wilam Hall offers modern facilities, including study spaces, a music room, and communal areas, making it a unique blend of history and contemporary student life. It also gained fame for its appearance in the film 'Knowing' starring Nicolas Cage.
