Alcatraz Island (featured in The Rock)

The 1996 film The Rock is set on and around Alcatraz Island and features extensive footage of the island's cellhouse and grounds. The movie uses the real Alcatraz exterior as a primary visual element; some production photography and second-unit filming correspond to the island's recognizable locations. Visitor ferries to Alcatraz depart from the nearby Pier 33 landing.
