Big Tex - the giant talking cowboy

Big Tex is a 55-foot-tall animated cowboy statue that has served as the mascot of the State Fair of Texas since the 1950s; the current 55-foot incarnation was unveiled in 2013 after the previous figure was destroyed by fire in 2012. Big Tex is often described in promotional materials and media as the "world's tallest talking cowboy." The statue greets fairgoers annually during the State Fair at Fair Park.
