National Assembly Building (Beijing)

The National Assembly Building in Beijing is a historically significant site, being the first purpose-built meeting place for the National Assembly of the Republic of China. Designed by German architect Curt Rothkegel, it reflects early 20th-century architectural ambitions. Although it was intermittently used for assembly sessions until 1924, the building now forms part of the Xinhua News Agency compound and has been restored for events. Visitors can explore the nearby Xinhua History Exhibition Hall, which showcases artifacts from the Republican era, although the National Assembly Building itself is not open to the public.
