Parliament House, Harare

Parliament House in Harare, a historic government building, served as the legislative center for Zimbabwe for 124 years. Originally constructed in 1895, it began as a hotel before being repurposed for legislative use. The building witnessed significant events, including the establishment of the Federal Parliament of Rhodesia and Nyasaland in 1954. It was the site of Zimbabwe's first Parliament in 1980 and underwent several expansions to accommodate growing legislative needs. In November 2023, the Parliament relocated to a new building in Mount Hampden, marking the end of an era for this iconic structure.
