Burrages End

Burrages End is a historic house located near Lothian in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, notable for its late 18th-century architecture and rich history. Constructed around 1780, it features a distinctive gambrel roof and was built by Col. John Weems, who was also involved in the construction of nearby St. James' Church. The property includes several historic outbuildings, such as a slave quarter and a tobacco barn, reflecting the area's agricultural past. The site also contains a cemetery associated with the Weems and Sellman families, who owned the property for generations. Burrages End was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, making it a significant destination for tourists and researchers interested in early American history.
