Frank Rizzo statue removal at the Municipal Services Building

A bronze statue of former mayor and police commissioner Frank Rizzo stood outside the Municipal Services Building and was removed by the city on June 3, 2020. The statue had been the subject of prolonged public debate over Rizzo’s legacy and became a focal point during protests in 2020. After removal, city officials placed the statue in storage while discussions about its permanent disposition continued.
