Cathedral of Junk

The Cathedral of Junk is a large assemblage sculpture in a private South Austin backyard created by builder Vince Hannemann beginning in 1988 using found objects and recycled materials. The multi-room, tower-like installation has attracted visitors and media coverage as an example of outsider and folk art and is accessible to the public by appointment. The site is a documented local landmark often included in guides to Austin's unconventional public art.
