Tegne- og Kunstindustriskolen for Kvinder, founded in 1875 in Copenhagen, was a pioneering art school dedicated to women's education in the visual arts and handicrafts at a time when women were barred from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. The school, which operated until 1967, played a crucial role in empowering women artists and artisans, providing them with the skills necessary for professional employment in various industries.
