National Bonsai & Penjing Museum (U.S. National Arboretum)

The National Bonsai & Penjing Museum, located on the grounds of the U.S. National Arboretum, opened in 1976 and displays bonsai, penjing, and suiseki from Asia and North America. The museum's exhibits include tray-grown bonsai and larger landscape plantings, and several specimens in its collection are more than a century old. It is managed as part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and is open to visitors as a specialized living-plant collection within the Arboretum.
