Plaza de César Chávez-downtown civic and event plaza

Plaza de César Chávez is San Jose’s central downtown park and civic plaza, located adjacent to City Hall and surrounded by theaters and cultural institutions. Since the 1970s the plaza has been the annual site of the large public holiday display 'Christmas in the Park,' and it regularly hosts concerts, farmers markets, cultural festivals, and political demonstrations. The plaza functions as a primary outdoor gathering space for citywide cultural and community events.
