National Archives restricted research holdings

The National Archives at 701 Constitution Avenue NW houses the federal government's permanently valuable records and original documents. Some holdings are classified, sealed, or otherwise restricted and require researchers to request access or meet specific access conditions; original records are provided under supervised conditions in research rooms. While the Archives includes public exhibits, stacks and certain records rooms remain closed to general visitors.
