USS Olympia at the Independence Seaport Museum - Admiral George Dewey's flagship

The USS Olympia, berthed at the Independence Seaport Museum, served as Admiral George Dewey's flagship at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish–American War in 1898. The preserved protected cruiser is displayed at the museum, which documents Dewey's role in the battle and the ship's naval history. The Olympia remains one of the few surviving 19th-century steel warships and is interpreted as a national historic artifact.
