Chris Rye House

The Chris Rye House, located in Mason City, Iowa, is a historic residence built by local contractor Chris Rye, who may have also designed it. Influenced by the Prairie School architectural style, this unique two-story house features a combination of brick and stucco, topped with a hip roof. Rye was known for constructing several homes in the Rock Crest – Rock Glen development, contributing to the architectural landscape of north-central Iowa. The house was recognized for its historical significance and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
