Grimm Book Bindery

The Grimm Book Bindery, established in 1926 in Madison, Wisconsin, is a historic Georgian Revival-style building that served as the town's only dedicated book-binding business for 60 years. Founded by German immigrant Gottlieb Grimm, who is credited with binding the first book in Madison, the bindery has a rich history of serving local government and educational institutions. Designed by architect Alvin Small, the building features classic architectural elements, including red brick walls and a neo-colonial-style sign. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, highlighting its significance as a well-preserved example of small commercial architecture in the area. Today, the building has been repurposed into apartments, but its historical charm continues to attract visitors and researchers alike.
