Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park ruins

The Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort preserves the foundations and earthworks of the 1855–1857 Mormon settler fort that is the earliest non‑Native permanent structure in the Las Vegas Valley. Archaeological work at the site has identified building foundations, defensive features, and 19th-century artifacts tied to the original fort and adjacent settlement. The site is a designated Nevada State Historic Park and interprets those excavated and exposed remnants for the public. It is located at the original settlement plaza where Las Vegas later developed.
