Edmund Fowle House

The Edmund Fowle House, built in 1772, is a historic house and local history museum located in Watertown, Massachusetts. As the second-oldest surviving house in the area, it played a significant role during the American Revolutionary War, serving as the meeting place for the Massachusetts Executive Council. The house features a classic two-story wood-frame structure with a distinctive hip roof and a five-bay front facade. It was moved to its current location in 1871 and has undergone restoration, reopening to the public in 2008. Visitors can explore its rich history, including the signing of the Treaty of Watertown, the first treaty between the United States and a foreign power.
