Christian Bloedel Wagon Works

The Christian Bloedel Wagon Works, also known as The Brick Shop, is a historic site in McGregor, Iowa, featuring two notable buildings from the 19th century. The main wagon shop, built in 1862, showcases Italianate architecture with a distinctive stepped brick parapet. It served as both a manufacturing facility and a residence. The second building, constructed around 1887, housed a paint shop and additional living space. These structures reflect the region's rich history in wagon manufacturing and were recognized on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009, making them an interesting stop for tourists and researchers alike.
