Castro Theatre (1922 movie palace)

The Castro Theatre opened in 1922 as a single-screen movie palace designed by architect Timothy L. Pflueger and is one of San Francisco’s best-known historic neighborhood theaters. Its ornate Spanish-Baroque interior, marquee, and vertical sign have been preserved, and the theatre is a designated San Francisco landmark.
