Sacred Heart Academy (Cincinnati, Ohio)

Sacred Heart Academy is a historic site in Cincinnati, Ohio, originally built as a grand residence in 1868 by architect Samuel Hannaford, known for his prominent designs in the region. The building, inspired by English Kenilworth Castle, served as a Catholic school for nearly a century before closing in 1970. Its striking Gothic Revival architecture features a four-story tower and intricate hand-carven wood paneling, making it a notable example of 19th-century design. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, it represents the rich architectural heritage of Cincinnati and the legacy of Hannaford's work.
