Thomas Hobbs Jr. House

The Thomas Hobbs Jr. House, built in 1763, is a historic landmark located at 8 Wells Street in North Berwick, Maine. As one of the town's oldest surviving structures, it served as a tavern and social hub for the community, known locally as The Hostelry. The house features a simple Georgian design and is situated near the Great Works River. It was owned by Thomas Hobbs Jr., a veteran of the French and Indian War, and has historical significance due to the involvement of Hobbs and his descendants in local governance, including participation in Maine's constitutional convention. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and is currently a private residence.
