Boston Common

Established in 1634, Boston Common is the oldest city park in the United States. Historically it was used as common grazing land and later as a campsite for British troops in the years before the American Revolution. The Common adjoins the Massachusetts State House and has long served as a site for public speeches, protests, and civic gatherings.
