Las Vegas Springs Preserve (site of historic Las Vegas Springs)

Springs Preserve encompasses the historic Las Vegas Springs, the valley's original freshwater source documented by 19th-century explorers and surveyors and used as a landmark by railroad and townsite survey parties. The springs and adjacent wetlands are recorded in early field notes and maps that informed the 1905 platting of the Las Vegas Townsite. The Preserve interprets archaeological remains and historic features that illustrate the springs' role in early surveys, travel routes, and settlement of the valley.
