The Orange Show Monument

Jefferson 'Jeff' McKissack began building the Orange Show Monument in 1956 as a one-man folk-art environment devoted to the orange, assembling mosaics and structures from found materials over several decades. The site later became the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art and is known for its eccentric, handmade sculptures and murals. The Orange Show hosts community events including the annual Orange Show Festival and has long been associated with Houston's art car culture.
