Old Red Museum (Old Red Courthouse)

The Old Red Courthouse, now the Old Red Museum of Dallas County History & Culture, is a Romanesque Revival building completed in 1892 at the center of downtown Dallas. Local ghost tours and media reports include anecdotal accounts of unexplained footsteps, voices, and apparitions within the courthouse, leading some local storytellers to describe it as haunted or 'cursed.' These accounts are part of local folklore and have been reported in news and tour narratives but are not scientifically verified. The building currently houses historical exhibits and archival materials about Dallas County.
