Brattle Hall

Brattle Hall is a historic building located along Brattle Street near Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Constructed in 1889 for the Cambridge Social Union, it originally served as a library and venue for social gatherings. Designed by Longfellow, Alden & Harlow, the building features a blend of Dutch Colonial Revival and Colonial Revival styles. Today, it remains a vibrant social center, housing the Brattle Theatre, a popular repertory movie house, as well as a restaurant and coffee shop. Brattle Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and is part of the Harvard Square Historic District.
