Liberty Public Market / Naval Training Center Redevelopment

Liberty Public Market occupies a reuse of historic buildings in the former Naval Training Center (NTC) San Diego, a decommissioned Navy base that was closed in 1997 and redeveloped as Liberty Station. The market and surrounding mixed-use district are examples of adaptive reuse of early-20th-century naval training facilities into retail, cultural, and residential space. The site preserves many original NTC structures while accommodating contemporary public programming and small businesses.
