Elvis Presley's Las Vegas residency and 1970 concert film

Elvis Presley launched his Las Vegas concert residency at the International Hotel (later the Las Vegas Hilton, now Westgate Las Vegas) with his opening show on July 31, 1969. He returned for repeated engagements there through the early 1970s and became one of the city's most prominent headliners. The 1970 concert documentary Elvis: That's the Way It Is was filmed during his engagements at the International Hotel in August 1970. Those performances helped cement Las Vegas residencies as a major part of popular music touring.
