Portal Ranger Station

The Portal Ranger Station, situated in the picturesque Cave Creek Canyon of the Chiricahua Mountains in southeastern Arizona, is a historic site recognized for its Craftsman Bungalow architecture. Built in 1934 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, this complex includes an office and a pumphouse, reflecting the evolution of the Forest Service from basic oversight to active resource management.
